I have decided to start hard with a recipe of chewing gum.
You take 3 strawberries, 1 spoon of vital wheat gluten flour and you blend it. You have a very healthy nutritious chewing gum to chew.
When I was a kid, in July, my grandfather use to bring me in the fields to check the wheat and see when to harvest. My grandfather used to take few grains, chew them, swallow all the water and the skin from the wheat. What would remain in his mouth was the gluten.
This summer, I tried to teach a kid how to make a "cow boy chewing gum" with few grains I bought in Whole Foods, and it worked!!! It takes some practice, but that's a funny experience to try. You can do it also with kamut so your child will discover different tastes. You can even do it with masticating wheat bran. The easiest way is to add some water on gluten flour, or even better, some natural fruit juice. You can make chewing gums with teas, infusions, fruits, and the juice from veggies. It's all good and at the same time you masticate, you offer your brain and your face a little massage.
Learning mastication and the pleasure of mastication needs sometimes to try new experiments with food. Creating home made chewing gums is a funny way to achieve the goal. If you tried your own home made chewing gums with different recipes, please share your experience in the forum.
