I want to share one of my favorite films about animal slaughtering. This is the story of Temple Grandin. As she likes to say, she has the brain of a cow and can envision the sufferance of animals while slaughtering. She designs facilities to make this "passage" less a sufferance.
When going to the store to buy food, the "organic" label does not tell anything about animal slaughtering. The "organic" label does not tell anything of the conditions of animal welfare. The other label "pasture raised" may be organic, or may be not. They are two different labels with two different ways to raise and kill animals.
When we buy "pasture raised" chicken, it does not tell anything about the conditions of the animals during transportation and slaughtering. We shall know how this has been managed.
